Alpha Male Behavior Have you ever wondered what term “alpha male” means, specifically what exactly does the associated behavior involve? The alpha male is a position growing. While some men are naturally alpha males, others learn the behavior so they too can reap the many benefits. Think of the wolf pack. The strongest, smartest, and most fit male, or the alpha male, will breed with the strongest, smartest, and most fit female, her being the alpha female. The purpose is so any offspring are superior species. In humans, the alpha male is also strong, smart, and fit, a true leader. Unfortunately, some people have confused alpha male behavior with arrogance. Sure, some alpha males are but many are simply aware and confident. Typically, the alpha male has a place in social hierarchy where he is thought of with respect and many times, in awe. People cannot help but be impressed with his education, his posture, his communication abilities, and all the things that draw both men and women to him. The alpha male walks into a room, and immediately, his presence is known. His walk, stance, and movements are slow and precise. He is unhurried, determined, and focused. He takes a dominant position without even trying. Other men know which men are alpha males, keeping a safe distance out of respect. Women on the other hand are drawn to the confidence and calmness projected by the alpha male, which is why he always gets the girls. Additionally, the alpha male does not like getting involved with other people’s dominance. They find their place and then establish turf. For instance, an alpha male in a nightclub will find a position where he can see the majority of the people in the room. From this vantage point, he will watch while standing tall and proud to make himself known. He is selective, meaning he does not meander about to mingle but instead, allows people to approach him. The bottom line is that alpha male behavior is a type of dominance coupled with confidence. He dos everything possible to put himself in a powerful position, which might mean advanced education, working his way up in a company or starting his own business, driving a nice sports car, wearing the finest clothes, and dating only selective women. Again, some behaviors include ego in a bad way but usually, the alpha male has ego in the form of knowing who he is and what he wants out of life. Because the alpha male has his head on straight, men often mimic him to become more like him.
